A signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation was held on 6th October, 2011 during the D-8 Ministerial Meeting on Industry at Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.
The MoU was signed by the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. M. Yahya Maroofi, Secretary General of D-8 Dr. Widi A. Pratikto.
The MoU provides a basis for cooperation between the two organizations in different areas of mutual interest, including Trade, Transport, Energy, Minerals, Agriculture, Industrial Cooperation, Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development, Human Resource Development, Science & Technology, and Economic Research & Statistics through exchange of information, knowledge, best practices and experiences.
