On 7 March 2011, the ECO Secretary General met with Ambassadors H.E. Mr. David Nieves Velasquez Caraballo, Mr. William Carbo Ricardo, Mr. Stephenson Bravo, Mr. Mario Barquero and Dr. Jorge Miranda Luizaga representing Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Bolivia. During the meeting the Ambassadors were briefed on the ECO’s ongoing activities in the main areas of cooperation. The high ranking diplomatic representatives noted an interest in trade developments, especially in the dynamism of the ECO Trade and Development Bank. They also indicated an intention to participate in the ECO’s regional trade fairs in near future. Special interest was attributed to the upcoming launch by the ECO member countries of 1000 trucks to run along the Great Silk Road Route which trespasses the ECO region.
