H.E. Mr. Murat Ulus, President of the ECO Trade and Development Bank (ECOTDB), held a meeting with ECO Secretary General at ECO Secretariat.
During the meeting, a host of important matters in particular expansion of ECOTDB’s membership, prospects of cooperation with other multilateral development banks like IsDB, and establishment of Technical Assistance Fund at ECOTDB to extend technical support to the member states were discussed. The Secretary General appreciated the growing role of the ECOTDB in promoting economic development in the region. He also acknowledged the leadership of H.E. Mr. Ulus in developing sound policies and strategies in line with international banking principles and best practices of other multilateral development banks to promote economic development. In his remarks, the Secretary General also urged the Bank to give special focus to the needs of land-locked as well as least developed countries of the region
The President appreciated the support of ECO Secretariat especially in encouraging the member states to joint the Bank. Both sides expressed there strong commitment to continue joint efforts to encourage all ECO member states to join the Bank at the earliest.
