The newly-appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Iran, H.E. Mr. Khalid Aziz Babar, presented his credentials as Permanent Representative of the ECO to H.E. Mr. M. Yahya Maroofi, the ECO Secretary General on 9th August, 2011.
Following the ceremony which was held at the ECO Secretariat, the two sides exchanged views on an array of issues of mutual interest concerning ECO.
The Secretary General, lauding Pakistan’s active and constructive role in fostering regional cooperation within the framework of ECO, acknowledged Pakistan’s support to ECO’s endeavours aimed at promoting socioeconomic development in the region.
Both sides reiterated the significance of ECO as a fitting platform to promote regional economic cooperation and reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen the Organization in view of the emerging regional priorities.
