On the invitation of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Mr. M. Yahya Maroofi, participated in a special ceremony held in connection with Nowrooz celebrations on 27th March, 2011 in Tehran. The special ceremony was graced by the presence of Heads of the State/Governments and high-level political leadership and delegations from the ECO member states. In addition to the ECO member states, high-ranking delegations from such non-ECO countries of the region as Armenia, India, Iraq, Qatar and others were also present at the occasion.
