Briefing to the Diplomatic Corps in Tehran by H.E. Manouchehr Mottaki, Foreign  Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 19 January 2010, the Secretary General participated together with the other diplomatic representatives in a meeting called for by H.E. Manouchehr Mottaki, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Marking the commemoration of Gaza, the Foreign Minister expressed the position of his Government and urged the Islamic world to stand united for the realization of the legitimate rights of the people of Palestinian. On Iran’s rights for nuclear energy and the ongoing dialog with IAEA and the P 5+1 group, Minister Mottaki said, his government is waiting to receive positive reaction to their latest proposal on this matter.

Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, alluding to the situation after the presidential election in Iran, emphasized the rule of law and that any event arising from this situation will be dealt with accordingly.  

The Foreign Minister promised periodic briefing on his Government’s policies to the diplomatic corps in Iran. The meeting finished with expression of thanks by the ambassadors for providing the occasion.
