The High Level Experts Group (HLEG) Meeting on Energy was held on 20-21 September 2010, in Tehran, Iran. The meeting was hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran and attended by the representatives of 6 Member States, namely: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Turkey. A delegation of the ECO Secretariat also participated in the meeting.
The main objective of this meeting was to thoroughly draft the Agenda of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting on Energy/Petroleum, to be held on 29 September – 1 October, 2010 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The meeting: (i) reviewed the progress made in the implementation of the Plan of Action; (ii) drafted new Plan of Action for 2011-2015; (iii) prepared the draft Agenda for the 2nd Ministerial Meeting on Energy/Petroleum and (iv) discussed the matters relating to the New and Renewable Sources of Energy, ECO’s cooperation with other international organizations and interconnection of ECO Member States energy systems.
