The Secretary General of ECO participated in the 42nd Consultative Meeting (CCM) of the Colombo Plan on February 10-11 2010 in New Delhi, India. The Secretary General informed the participants about ECO initiatives on Trade and Investment, Transport & Communications, Agriculture, Energy, Industry, Human Resources Development, Drugs Control and Environment.
The recent visit of H.E. Ms. Patricia Yoon-Moi Chia, the Secretary General of the Colombo Plan to the ECO Secretariat on November 24, 2009 had revitalized the relationship and added momentum to the pace of ongoing cooperation. Some joint activities in the field of Drug control/prevention and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, etc. had been identified. In this respect, the Secretary General underscored the importance of sharing experiences and practices especially in the areas of cooperation identified in the MoU.
