The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. David Nieves Velásques Caraballo, called-on the Secretary General, on January 28, 2010. H.E. Mr. David Nieves Velásques Caraballo appreciated the important role ECO assumed on different projects and offered cooperation with ECO. They exchanged views about the important role of the regional organizations as most useful instrument to address the common interest of the Member States. H.E. Mr. Mohammed Yahya Maroofi underscored the importance of Istanbul Summit on Afghanistan on January 26, 2010 including discussions on the problems of the region.
The Secretary General informed the Ambassador about the structure and the major dossiers of ECO, particularly Communication, Trade & Investment, Anti Narcotics, Agriculture and Disaster Relief. The Secretary General welcomed H.E Mr. David Nieves Velásques Caraballo’s proposal for cooperation and emphasised the need to establish working relations with other regional organizations in the world furthering common objectives.
