The Ambassador of Denmark to the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Tomas Anker Christensen paid a call on the Secretary General with the Special Representative of the Danish Foreign Minister for Afghanistan and Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Anders Carsten Damsgaard, designate Ambassador to Afghanistan.
The Secretary General congratulated H.E. Mr. Anders Carsten Damsgaard for his new challenging and also rewarding tenure in Afghanistan. H.E. Mr. Anders Carsten Damsgaard explained his main focus on the regional aspect being crucial for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. In this respect, he was interested in hearing the Secretary General’s view on the role of ECO in the region. The Secretary General informed the Ambassadors about the role ECO assumed for the reconstruction efforts of Afghanistan and explained aims and objectives of ECO in various regional dimensions.
