JICA-EIE Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on Energy Efficiency and Management in Industry (Ankara, Turkey, 25 May - 5 June 2009) |
The representatives of the Secretariats of ECO and Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) as well as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) also attended this Workshop. Twenty (20) engineers and energy specialists, who work in different fields from 13 countries, attended the training course. The total number of the participants from the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states was 8: Azerbaijan-2, Iran-1, Kazakhstan-1, the Kyrgyz Republic-1, Pakistan-1 and Uzbekistan-1. Purpose of the Training Program was to provide the participants an opportunity to improve their knowledge and techniques in the field of energy efficiency and management. During the first week of the course, which was theoretical, the lectures were given by the lecturers from EİE and other partners. The participants acquired the audit techniques and knowledge in energy efficiency and identified feasible energy cost reduction opportunities. During the practical part of the Training Program which was held in the second week, the participants used the measuring devices and taking measurements on the energy consumed equipment in the “Energy Efficiency Training Unit” including steam boiler, steam trap, combustion furnace, compressed air, fan, pump, compensation and lighting training units of EİE and evaluated the result of measurements with EİE experts. Also technical factory visits to well known factories and plants in İstanbul were made as a part of the practical studies of the course. |
