New Ambassador of Pakistan Presented his Credentials to ECO Secretary General

          H.E. Mr. Shafkat Saeed, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran called on H.E. Mr. Askhat Orazbay, Secretary General ECO on 19^th February, 2006 at the Secretariat and presented his Credentials accrediting him as the Permanent Representative of his country to the Secretariat of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

          H.E. Mr. Askhat Orazbay has extended his congratulations to H.E. Mr. Shafkat Saeed on the occasion of his appointment to Tehran as new Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

          During the ceremony arranged for the purpose, the range of the existing and urgent issues related to ECO, including preparation of 16^th Council of Ministers Meeting and 9^th Summit Meetings to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, have been discussed.

          New Pakistani Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Shafkat Saeed, has stated their intentions to widen and deepen already existing good relations with ECO and emphasized Pakistan’s keen interest in ECO activities for a common future of ECO area.

          The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Askhat Orazbay has appreciated profound involvement of Pakistan in ECO related issues and expressed hope that Pakistan would continue its active participation in implementation of ECO activities.
