Secretary General’s message of condolence to the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the recent earthquake

         H.E. Mr. Askhat Orazbay, the Secretary General of the ECO, has sent a message of sympathy to H.E. Mr. Khurshid M. Kasuri, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, expressing his sorrow on the large-scale destruction in the earthquake of 8^th October, 2005. Full text of the message is as under:

          “Excellency,

          On behalf of the ECO Secretariat and on my own behalf, I wish to convey to Your Excellency our deepest condolences on the tragic loss of life and property in the devastating earthquake of Saturday.

          In these testing times, we pray for the departed souls. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the families of the victims of the catastrophe.

          Excellency, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”
