Press Release

Following up the decision of the 96-th meeting of the ECO Council of the Permanent Representatives (CPR), a contract was negotiated and signed by the ECO Secretariat and the NESPAC-led consortium on 29 March 2005 for the preparation of the feasibility study on interconnection of the power systems of ECO member states financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Grant.

The contract will become effective after its review and endorsement by IDB. The implementation time is 18 months after the commencement of the consultant’s work.

While the ECO Secretariat will act as the focal point for coordination of the work on the study, the member states are expected to appoint their national focal points to facilitate the collection of required data and information.
