Expert Working Group meeting & 2^nd meeting of the Steering Committee

PRESS RELEASE

            The Iranian Railway authorities are hosting the following two meetings under the aegis of ECO from 9-12 May, 2004:

• Expert Working Group meeting to fine-tune draft Action Plan for revitalizing and operating the China-Middle East-Europe Corridor including a time framework for its execution (May 9-10, 2004).

• 2^nd meeting of the Steering Committee (Coordination Unit) to monitor and ensure the smooth running of container trains on the Trans-Asian Railway main line (May 11-12, 2004).

            The two meetings assume greater significance as the ECO attaches high priority to the cooperation amongst the member states in the field of transportation and communication.
