H. E. Seyed Mojtaba Arastou, ECO Secretary General, on the side line of the 5^th Asia and Pacific Population Meeting of the United Nations, held in Bangkok, called on the Foreign Minister of Thailand.

            Mr. Arastou, in this meeting, briefed the Foreign Minister of Thailand on the decisions and achievements of the 7^th ECO Summit Meeting, held in October, in Istanbul-Turkey. He also referred to the close relationship between ECO, ASEAN and UNESCAP, and emphasized on the recent agreed cooperation of ECO-ASEAN on a joint project.

            In return, the Foreign Minister of Thailand, while welcoming the cooperation of ECO and ASEAN, added that Thailand as a member of ASEAN would try to promote the existing cooperation with ECO, in order to gain the common goals of the two Organizations.
