ECO Secretary General called on Executive Director of UNDCP

            ECO Secretary General, Dr. Abdolrahim Gavahi, on his visit to Vienna called on UNDCP Executive Director, Mr. Antonio Maria Costa at UNDCP headquarters.

            In this meeting, the document pertaining to the 2^nd phase of ECO-UNDCP joint project on controlling drug trafficking in ECO region was signed and the proposal to hold ministerial meeting on drug control among ECO Member States, forwarded by Dr. Gavahi, was well received. Also, there were negotiations on holding a joint seminar on HIV/AIDS, in ECO region. In the light of new situation in Afghanistan, ECO Secretary General sought the financial assistance of UNDCP to deal with the relevant issues of interest to both organizations.
