Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey called on 

ECO Secretary General

            H.E. Ambassador Alev Kiliç, Deputy Undersecretary/Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Selahattin Alpar, Turkish Ambassador in Tehran, called on H.E. Ambassador Dr. Abdolrahim Gavahi, Secretary General of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on Tuesday February 19, 2002 in the Secretariat. The Secretary General, while welcoming the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, wished him a pleasant stay in Tehran and, at the same time, briefed him about the ongoing projects and activities of ECO Secretariat.

            The visiting Deputy Foreign Minister, while thanking Secretary General, informed him about his meeting with H.E. Dr. Kamal Kharrazi, Foreign Minister and also H.E. Dr. Mohammad Hossein Adeli, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of the IR of Iran. He informed the Secretary General that his meetings with the Iranian dignitaries at the Iranian Foreign Office, have been very positive and encouraging.

            At the end, he indicated that Turkey, being one of the founding members, is always ready to support any suitable proposal which will be tabled for the betterment and enhancement of economic cooperation in the ECO region.
