The 2nd Meeting of the Heads of Blood Transfusion Organizations/ Authorities of ECO Member States

Ankara, Republic of Turkey

 26- 27 April 2010

The 2nd Meeting of the Heads of Blood Transfusion Organizations/ Authorities of ECO Member States will be organized jointly by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and Turkish Red Crescent Society at Ankara, on 26- 27 April 2010.

Some important issues inter alia, National Centralized Blood Systems, Blood Safety, Quality Control and Quality Management of Blood, Voluntary Donor Recruitment and Retention, Plasma Fractionation, Automated Screening in blood transfusion etc will be discussed in the meeting.  

It may be recalled that the First Meeting of the Heads of Blood Transfusion Organizations/Authorities of ECO Member States was hosted by the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (IBTO) was held at the ECO Secretariat, Tehran on 23-24 June, 2008.

Workshop on Implications of the Global Financial Crisis for the ECO economics in the Short-Mid-Long Term and Projects – Cooperation on Statistics & Economic Research

The Planning and Management Organization of Republic of Turkey is organizing a Workshop on Economic Research and Statistics scheduled for 15 February 2010. The Workshop will incorporate two sessions on: (i) the Implications of the Global Financial Crisis for the ECO economics in the Short-Mid-Long Term, and (ii) Projects - Cooperation on economic research and Statistics. At morning session the participants will discuss the ways and perspectives of achieving the balanced economic growth by analyzing the financial crisis entailed implications. The afternoon session will be dedicated to salient issues of development of regional statistics. The event will be prior to the ECO 20th Regional Planning Council Meeting scheduled for 16-18 February 2010.
