In compliance with para 14, item 91 of the Report of the Council of Ministers of the ECO, the ECO Project Monitoring Group (PMG) has been established to achieve greater efficiency in project implementation of the Organization. It meets regularly to discuss all issues pertaining to project implementation in ECO. Interagency coordination of project activities between ECO and international and other stakeholders is also among the responsibilities of the PMG. The first meeting of the PMG took place on 12 December 2009 at ECO Secretariat.

To streamline ECO project operations, the Guidelines for ECO Projects have been deliberated in detail by project involved departments during the first meeting of PMG in December 2009. These have been accepted for internal guidelines to streamline project related activities of the ECO.

The first training workshop on project management frameworks has been conducted in cooperation of ECO and UNDP. The UNDP Project Leading Team consisting of seven resource persons have conducted a hands on training for ECO Staff.
