It is a matter of great pleasure for me to extend warm felicitations to the peoples and governments of fellow ECO member states on the occasion of the fourteenth anniversary of ECO’s expansion. Pakistan joins its peers in the region in commemorating this important landmark in the history of ECO.

ECO has indeed come a long way since 1992. It has made important strides in promoting linkages and institutionalizing cooperation. I am confident that the Organization will measure up to the challenges of regional integration that lie ahead.

ECO remains our best hope for pooling our collective potential for the common benefit of our peoples. This day affords us all an opportunity to renew our commitment to the Organization and its noble objectives.

I wish ECO complete success in the fulfillment of the lofty goals it has set for itself.
